Our Mission:
To promote and develop the capacity of families and communities to:
- Care for and protect children and youth.
- Support adults with developmental disabilities.
Our Role and Mandate
- Advance the safety and well being of children, youth and adults.
- Advance early childhood development through strategic investments.
- Advance and support a community-based system of family services that promotes innovation, equity and accountability.
Key Goals
The Ministry has three key goals, aimed at both individuals and the service delivery system:
- Adults with developmental disabilities and children and youth with special needs can and will achieve their full potential, participate in, and contribute to their communities.
- Children and youth are healthy and safe in their families and communities.
- A community-based service delivery system that is effectively supported and monitored.
