Aldous

Birth date: October 1998
Ethno-Cultural Background: Caucasian

How is your skill at American Sign Language? Aldous does very well using it and manages to get along well with other children and adults. He takes some time to warm up but once he gets over his initial shyness he does well socially. Aldous is affectionate and playful and loves to work with his hands. He shows some skill for mechanics and miraculously always seems able to determine the right tool for a task.

Aldous is currently in grade 4 and utilizes a one to one aid in the classroom. On the playground he is good at running and jumping and catches on fast to those activities. He has been involved with Challenger Baseball, day camps and canoeing to date. He loves to participate in school excursions and does well with the support of his aide.

Aldous would do well in a family with other children. He also loves birds and enjoys feeding them. He would like to continue some form of openness with his birth mother and his older brother. He requires an extra level of supervision but loves to participate. Aldous’ family would need to be prepared to educate themselves around some medical diagnoses that he has. These should be discussed in detail with the social worker involved. He will require lots of support to reach his full potential. Perhaps your family is up for the challenge and rewards involved with this young man?
