Let me tell you about a great little girl who is blonde haired and blue eyed and looking for a soft landing. She is active, appealing and likeable. What a winning combination!
Athena is currently in grade 6 and with the help of an aid, functions quite well. She is learning some skills that help her manage her own behaviour and is gaining some success in this area. With some coaching Athena interacts well with both children and adults and is attached to both her aide and her care givers. She loves to watch the Simpson’s and play with her stuffies. Athena also loves to walk and run so would do well with a family that likes the great outdoors.
Athena had a tough start in this world, being born very premature. She spent the first 9 months of her life in Children’s Hospital so has made incredible strides since then.
Athena needs a family that will agree to some openness with a brother who is being planned for separately, birth family members, an older sister and the foster parents. The family will need to support some of Athena’s medical concerns and be able to provide structure and consistent parenting.
