Calder

Birth Date: May 1999
Ethno-Cultural Background: Caucasian

Let me introduce you to Calder. He is an affectionate, energetic little guy who loves to talk. He would just love to share his ideas with you as well as help you cook, clean and organize. He is very independent and loves to read, do math, participate in gym and “story time”.

Calder is polite and thoughtful and tends to get along with adults better than children. He will need some coaching to help him establish appropriate social relationships. He has had some difficulty containing his emotions and needs encouragement in this area.

Calder would tell you that he is “7 years old and likes to do lots of stuff. Sometimes I feel sad and sometimes I’m really excited. Not much more about me.” Perhaps he is too modest. There are many engaging qualities about him that make him likeable such as being energetic and comical. He is looking for a family where “we can be together forever.” Calder has some learning challenges that maybe a result of prenatal exposure to alcohol and drugs. He needs reminders to stay on task, to listen and to sit still. He shines when being active and loves swimming, baseball, basketball, skateboarding and bike riding. Quite an impressive list of activities! Calder needs a family to cheer him on in all his activities. He would likely do best as the youngest child in a non-smoking home that puts an emphasis on physical activity. He will need advocates in the school system and in his therapeutic services. He currently sees a counsellor weekly at school. How about cheering Calder on in his athletic endeavours? Go Calder go!
