We are looking for a cheering section to a couple of likeable, funny, active brothers. Perhaps you would like to be in the stands cheering them on? One loves soccer and is looking for a family to watch him play. The other loves to ride his bike and would love someone to wipe his knees when he falls. Meet Darby and Ansel. They have lots to offer and are in need of a family to help them through the next series of milestones in their lives.

Darby is a cautious, well behaved boy who loves to play with lego, yoyo and ride his bike. Skim boarding is another of his favourite activities when he isn’t watching TV. He is helpful, gentle and well behaved. He gets along quite well with both adults and children but does better one to one than in large groups. Darby is a strong willed young boy who has improved his interactions with his peers a great deal over the last couple of years. He continues to struggle with his mood swings but he has so many successes under his belt that he is bound to succeed in this area as well. Darby has a number of diagnoses that his new family will need to discuss with his social worker. They will also need to be prepared to support his growth and development in those areas through medical and community supports. Darby is a delightful boy who likes to attend school. He receives learning assistance for all subjects. Teachers say that he is a humorous asset to his classroom. He works a modified school program and is just going into grade 7.

Ansel is an animated and charming little guy who is on the go! He has a wide range of interests from soccer to swimming, boating and fishing. At school, Ansel is an avid reader and he often chooses to read books 200 pages long. Generally, Ansel relates well to other children and adults. He is a comical, outgoing and affectionate boy who describes himself as a funny guy who is kind of nice with good manners. He also admits to being kind of messy. A classroom assistant helps Ansel with math skills. He also has some medical concerns that will need ongoing monitoring.

Darby and Ansel want a family that can accept both of them.  Their new family should be able to supply them with a smoke free environment, as asthma is an issue. Some form of openness with their grandparents and current foster parents would be in the boy’s best interest.
