Active, energetic, engaging ~ just a few words to describe this wonderful boy named Drew. His interests are extensive and include camping, baseball, soccer, and swimming.
Drew is also affectionate, funny, thoughtful and polite. He takes care in his appearance and can be a perfectionist. Drew requires daily activities to use up his nervous energy. He is in a grade six classroom that provides structure and support for his behavioural challenges. He needs extra assistance in spelling, reading and math, yet is a very skilled drawer. Drew has progressed socially this year and needs continued encouragement to maintain friendships.
Drew is physically healthy. He was prenatally exposed to alcohol, but his behaviours are more associated with high anxiety. He takes medication to help stabilize his mood and assist him to sleep better at night. Behaviour modification and therapeutic services have also been beneficial in helping to manage some of Drew's challenging behaviours.
Drew needs a positive, loving family that can be patient with him while he is adjusting to his new life situation. He responds well to the stability of firm guidelines, a structure setting, and a calm atmosphere. It would be best if Drew is the only child, or has much older siblings. Drew has a strong connection with his foster family and an aunt, and his forever family will need to help him stay in touch with these important people.
