How about planning a camping trip this summer with these two added to your family? Together they make a dynamic duo. They both love to play and are active, happy children. They have been in a long term foster care and have formed good attachments to their care givers.
Bram is the older brother and although can act parentified, is very charming and appealing. He is well behaved and puts a lot of store in the good friendships he has established. Bram loves the outdoors and is in his element when fishing, camping and hiking. He is popular with both children and adults. He has good manners and is welcomed into the homes of his friends. Bram is in a regular grade 4 classroom but needs some support to stay caught up in his class work. He requires extra time to process auditory directions and information but keeps up with his peers when allowed that time. Bram will require lots of stability and a predictable environment.
Bram’s little sister, Hannah is active, affectionate and animated. Straight A’s for personality. She is very proud of her emerging skills at reading. Hannah is very friendly and will need some coaching so as not to be overly friendly with adults and thus making herself vulnerable. Hannah can exhibit poor impulse control and will require support and direction to help her express her anger appropriately. She is currently age appropriate in her development and loves to swing, slide, climb and jump. Hannah will need some coaching to learn to share and would likely do well in a family where she is the youngest. Both Bram and Hannah have had the opportunity to stay in their foster home long term and will need some time to adjust to a change. They require some openness with their 14-year-old brother and possibly their grandparents.
Both will need support with some behavioural challenges especially while establishing themselves in their new family. The potential for rewards with these two seems endless. Camping anyone?
