Three bubbly, active and thoroughly likeable girls, and one little boy who is described as gentle, happy and sweet – these four delightful children will contribute much to any family able to accept them as a sibling group.

Eldest sister, Jinny, is a very social and well liked young teen. Her talents are many. She excels in team sports, especially soccer and volleyball (she received an award for top athlete in Grade 8!). In the past she has also enjoyed writing, cooking, skating and playing flute in the school band. Her interests now are those of a “typical teen”. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, going to the movies or having sleep-overs with them. She is beginning to discover how much fun it is to go to pre-teen dances in her community and being invited by boys to dance.

Jinny is motivated by a desire to please others and a quest for personal perfection. She is valued by her friends for her mature outlook and strong sense of caring and her teachers speak highly of her. Jinny is doing well in school and, in fact, feels anxious if she earns anything lower than a “B” grade. She struggles a little with subjects such as Math and Science but is an enthusiastic student and needs no extra help in the classroom setting.

“Sensitive”, “dependable” and “helpful” are words used to describe Dana. She shows leadership qualities in school, where she is very active in the life of the class. Warm and welcoming, she has a positive energy that draws other students to her. She enjoys birthday parties, numerous play dates and a multitude of activities such as drawing, swimming and playing “Lego” with a neighbour. Athletically, Dana’s first love is hockey but she is an excellent goalie for her soccer team.

Dana has allergies to some foods but is otherwise a healthy child who is developmentally on track in all areas.

Alice loves swimming, riding her bike, paint by number projects, thrift store shopping and making cards for her friends and family. She has an outgoing and upbeat personality and is described by her teachers at school as a kind and considerate student who thinks of others’ feelings. A sensitive child, in the past she has been prone to attention seeking behaviours, perhaps as a reaction to her younger brother joining the family and realizing that she “wasn’t the cutest sibling any more”. However, she is learning to share and take turns and continues to approach her life with enthusiasm.

Brice is the youngest of these delightful siblings and he has a good relationship with his sisters. His sweet and gentle mannerisms endear him to the people in his life. He enjoys playing with other children, making crafts and drawing pictures. This little guy is talkative. In fact he used to struggle with “not listening” to others. He has a slight delay in communication skills and has been working with speech and language therapists since May 2009.

Brice has a mild respiratory condition.  He needs medications when he had a cold and has an inhaler for early signs of asthma. He requires a smoke free environment.

These exceptional children are well adjusted, for the most part developmentally “on track” and have wonderful, loving personalities. There is a chance that they were prenatally exposed to alcohol and marijuana, but so far there are no issues of concern connected to this. They need an energetic family that can help them stay together and encourage them to keep connected with their cultural heritage. To support continued openness with birth family members, a family in the Lower Mainland would be preferred.  For the family willing to accompany these children on their life journey, there will be an eventful and fulfilling journey ahead.
