Birth date: June 2006
Ethno-Cultural Background: Metis

Two delightful little guys are looking for a place to grow up. They have tons to offer and we are looking for a family that will appreciate the incredible opportunity here. These brothers are best friends and spend their days playing together. We are looking for a Metis home prepared to love these guys for the rest of their lives.

Nelson is not yet three years old and already has a following of fans. He loves to do puzzles and sing. He also is very curious about the piano. Perhaps you would like to help him develop this talent? Nelson takes a bit of time to warm up but when he does he is gentle, loving and calm. He loves to play outside, to run and swing and also loves ride-um cars that he can push with his feet.

Although Nelson had a tougher start than many babies, he has done extremely well and is functioning at a normal level developmentally. Nelson has some minor food sensitivities that will need to be discussed with prospective adoptive families.

Nelson’s little brother is Carlin and he is not yet two. Carlin is a busy little guy who is easy going and well behaved. He loves a wide array of things already including playing with paper, playing with telephone buttons and dolls that look like real babies. Carlin is not as shy as Nelson, although he still takes some time to warm up in new situations. Carlin loves many of the same things his brother does, like ride um cars, swinging and outdoor play.

Both boys are monitored by Infant Development and their new family will need to continue to work with the professionals involved. Both were diagnosed with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome when born although both have developed well while in care.

The lucky family that gets to cheer these boys on should have an awareness of the prenatal effects of drugs on babies. They should also be willing to explore some openness with 3 older siblings and perhaps birth mother and foster parents. Boys this lovely don’t get this far without fans!
