Sadie
Birth date: January 1996
Ethno-Cultural Background: Inuit/First Nations
Introducing the delightful, endearing and precious Sadie! A happy little girl who gets along well with both adults and children, Sadie is said to have a smile that lights up any room.
Arts and crafts are Sadie's specialty. Yet she also loves to swim, climb, and play with animals. As well, she's a girl who really enjoys school and works hard at it. She's physically healthy and has not missed a day of school in two years!
While she likes school, academics are challenging for Sadie. She is mentally delayed and was exposed to alcohol and drugs prenatally. She is approximately four years behind her peers in grade functioning and is just beginning to read. She does well having repeated reminders about finishing tasks, and she is successful in doing rote activities.
This gentle and sweet natured girl needs an adoptive family who has knowledge in parenting a child with mental disabilities. Sadie's adoptive parents need to have high patience and be willing to support contact with birth siblings through letter writing and pictures.
