These busy, spirited siblings are looking for an active, two parent family who will enjoy seeing them growing up together and reaching their goals.
Big sister, Sara, is a very creative and artistic young lady with an independent streak. Her interests in art, crafts and taking pictures keep her busy. A typical girl, she loves new clothes, doing her hair and nails and organizing games and activities. She is also quite active and enjoys dancing, swimming – and talking! Sara will talk your ear off if you let her!
Sara takes medication for ADHD but this does not seem to be a significant issue for her. She is developmentally on track in school and does not need any extra supports academically. Because of her past experiences, she needs help building self esteem and confidence. When feeling insecure she sometimes becomes defensive and tries to blame others for her mistakes. However, in general this little girl is a warm, sensitive and loving person, well liked by the other children and adults in her life.
Mindy is the middle child of this sibling group. She is a bubbly, enthusiastic and cuddly child who loves to sing and dance and play with puzzles. Mindy thrives on one to one attention and responds positively to praise. She is described as having a mild mental handicap, but she is an eager and willing learner and openly proud of herself when she attains new skills. With the help of a speech therapist she has made tremendous advances in her speech development. Mindy does well in an environment that can provide a predictable routine. She is just beginning to attend kindergarten and is enjoying the company of the other children. With adults, she is easy going, friendly and eager to please.
Mindy is generally healthy, although she currently suffers from some congestion and nasal problems. Her gross motor skills are still developing and she can be a bit off balance and accident prone at times. This does not hold her back in any way, however. She enjoys being outside and likes to play in the park and go swimming.
Youngest sibling, Matt, is an energetic and determined little boy with a positive approach to life. Matt has been in foster care since birth but was placed separately from his sisters and is just beginning to form an emotional attachment to them. An affectionate and social child, he has a strong sense of loyalty to those he cares about.
Matt attends daycare three days a week and especially likes playing outside, looking at books and crafts involving cutting paper. He has some speech delays and needs help with his social development and with handling transitions. However, he enjoys the company of the adults and children at the daycare and is appreciated for his sweet and helpful nature.
These endearing siblings would do well with a family that has the energy to participate in activities with them and help them develop their many positive qualities. Matt requires a smoke free environment as he suffers from asthma. He is also a restless sleeper so needs extra attention at night. The children may have been prenatally exposed to prescription drugs but are not believed to have been exposed to other dangerous substances. They would benefit from some openness with their foster parents and possible limited openness with their birth mother.
