Trixie

Birth date: February 1998
Ethno-Cultural Background: Caucasian

Trixie is described as endearing and delightful. She loves playing with other children, and is friendly and affectionate towards adults. Trixie especially enjoys infants and she often approaches baby strollers to “meet and greet” the babies. This speaks directly to her charming and curious nature!

Trixie loves to be physical. You can engage her in any number of activities including gymnastics, swimming and most activities that involve other children. She also loves to play computer games and enjoys music when she isn’t watching one of her favourite children’s shows on television.

Trixie attends school on a full time basis where she has one on one support throughout the day. This is helping her be successful in her grade 5 classroom. She currently receives assistance for her fine motor skill and language development. Trixie has a number of diagnoses that her perspective adoptive family will need to explore prior to her placement. These result in Trixie functioning well below her age level in both her vocabulary and cognitive skills. Like many other children, Trixie does have temper tantrums sometimes, but nothing that a little re-direction can’t fix. Trixie qualifies for Autism funding.

This sweet girl would do best in a home that can provide consistency, structure and supervision. An understanding and patience for Trixie’s unique needs will be essential. Trixie may want to stay in contact with members of her birth family and her current foster family, so a family that would support openness would be in her best interests.
