Warren
Birth date: September 1993
Ethno-Cultural Background: Caucasian
The word that best sums up this little young man is charming! He has a great sense of humour and endears himself to everyone who gets to know him. People around Warren describe him as affectionate, caring and cuddly while he would tell you that he is funny, happy and busy. Warren needs encouragement to try new things but is often really enthusiastic once he does. He loves to bike ride and swim and is currently getting lots of enjoyment from some volunteer work he is doing.
Warren has lots of challenges that will need to be discussed with his potential family but he certainly has lots to offer in return. He is currently in grade 9 with lots of support both educationally and socially. He has a great relationship with his one to one worker and his current foster family. He loves animals and is very good with them.
The best family for Warren will have knowledge of FASD and its impact. A family prepared to work with the medical team involved with Warren will also be essential. His current team is in the Vancouver area and this will need to be considered.
Warren has been in the care of the Ministry since infancy and really deserves to have his own family to love and support him through the remaining milestones he faces. His family will need to be prepared to parent Warren beyond the normal age.
