Medical Benefits

At Home Program Medical Benefits provides the following basic, essential medical benefits for eligible children:

  • Medical Equipment
  • Bio-Medical Equipment
  • Orthotics and Splints
  • Audiology Equipment and Supplies
  • Medical Supplies
  • School-Aged Extended Therapies
  • Dental/Orthodontic and Optical benefits
  • Medical Transportation
  • Medical Services Plan coverage
  • Medications and PharmaCare

Most of the benefits available through At Home Program Medical Benefits require pre-approval. Please refer to the At Home Program Guide for information on specific benefits and how to request them.

The At Home Program may reimburse parents for eligible medical transportation and certain medical supply costs that may temporarily not be available through the Product Distribution Centre. Please refer to the At Home Program Reimbursement: Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Adult Transition from At Home Program Medical Benefits

At Home Program Medical Benefits come to an end on the last day of the month of a youth’s 18th birthday. Young people with disabilities, 18 years of age or older, may qualify for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) financial and supplementary health assistance through the Ministry of Social Development.
