Medications & Other Pharmacare Benefits
Children who are eligible for At Home Program medical benefits also qualify for the following Pharmacare benefits:
- prescription medications
medications prescribed by a physician and approved by Pharmacare.*
- orthotics and prosthetics
- needles and syringes for insulin-dependent diabetics
- blood glucose testing strips for individuals with a certificate of training from a recognized Diabetic Training Centre.
*Some medications are not approved by Pharmacare. A physician may make a request for a special approval by submitting a Special Authority Request to Pharmacare.
