Accountability & Audits
Internal and contract operational audits are one of government's basic management tools.
While some audits involve financial management, most are designed to make sure that programs and contracted services are meeting their intended objectives. Other audits examine new and existing information systems for effectiveness and security. Occasionally, but rarely, audits look into allegations of wrongdoing or breaches of government standards of conduct.
