  Information for Service Providers

boyRegistry of Autism Service Providers

As a service provider you may be hired by parents to provide autism intervention for their children. If the child is under six years of age and you are a Behaviour Consultant, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist, you must be listed on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) to be paid with Autism Funding: Under Age 6 funds. You can apply to be on the RASP by completing the Application for Registry of Autism Service Providers and forwarding it to ACT - Autism Community Training.

Assisting Parents

To assist parents, you should explain the following:

  • your role on the child's team;
  • your training, experience, and approach to the intervention;
  • how much time you will spend with the parents and their child; and,
  • your fees.

Service Provider Rates

It is recommended that parents have a written contract or agreement with the professionals they hire. Service provider hourly rates should include the overall cost of doing business, such as time spent on administration, preparation and local travel. With the exception of extraordinary travel costs, only the hourly rate of the service provider is an eligible expense.

For additional Service Provider information please see:

The Parent’s Handbook: Your Guide to Autism Programs also includes additional information that may be of interest to you.
