Introduction

All young people in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development have rights. These rights are set out in a law called the Child, Family and Community Service Act. This booklet explains your rights under the act, and how they affect you. It also tells you what you can do if you feel your rights are not being respected.

It is important that you understand your rights. If there is anything in this booklet that is not clear, discuss it with your worker, caregiver, or someone else you trust.
