On-line Application Process
As part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Plan initiative, we are currently recruiting centrally for over 85 positions located throughout British Columbia.
To apply for any of these 85 positions, you must apply through the on-line application below.
Our Child and Youth Mental Health Regional Offices are also recruiting for additional positions within their regions. These positions are unique to the region and are not part of the central recruitment initiative. A separate process is required to apply for these positions.
On-line Application for Centrally Recruited Positions
A link to the on-line application is provided below. The application process will provide you with a listing of the available jobs, including details on the type of position, job location, relevant specialization (if required), and any unique job features.

Vacancies fall within three categories:
By accessing the on-line application, you are not automatically submitting an application. To apply for individual positions, you must click on the Job Postings tab in the on-line application, complete the required application information and click on the “Apply” box.
The application will request information on your related education and degree(s), skills, abilities, clinical competencies and previous work experience in child and youth mental health. It will also request an electronic copy of your resume.
If you are applying for more than one position, you will only need to submit one on-line application. To apply for more than one position you must click on the “Apply” box for each individual position.
Screening Process for On-line Positions
The first screening will commence January 20, 2006. The CYMH team will review all applications received by that date and, based on the information submitted, select for further consideration only those candidates who meet the required qualifications. Short-listed applicants will be provided with information on the next steps in the selection process.
A second screening will take place March 1, 2006, for any vacancies that remain after the first screening.
Additional Information for Applicants
As a condition of being considered for employment in the BC public service, references about past work performance will be obtained from your current and previous employers.
- Police record checks are required for some positions.
- Receipt of application confirmation will be provided through the on-line application process. Non-employee applicants will only be advised of the outcome if they were selected for further assessment.
All competitions are subject to audit review by the merit commissioner.
