ECD Initiatives

ECD initiatives promote and develop awareness of early childhood development through partnerships between MCFD, businesses and non-profit community organizations. Through public support, community partnerships and effective community planning, ECD initiatives raise awareness of the importance of the early years and improve access to services.

By helping to establish a system of comprehensive and integrated ECD services, ECD initiatives build and strengthen the capacity of communities across the province to support the development and growth of young children and their families.

This section describes the various ECD initiatives working to establish a positive, effective and sustainable support system for young children in BC: Aboriginal Early Childhood Development (AECD), Success by 6®, Children First Initiative and the Neighbourhood Hubs Initiative.
