Early Childhood Development Provincial Partnership
Success By 6® is a community-driven, United Way initiative, which is dedicated to helping young children and their families by:
- educating the community about the importance of the early years by encouraging community leaders to become champions for young children
- mobilizing local resources to invest in prevention-focused early childhood programs and services
The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Provincial Partnership is a collaboration between the United Way of BC, Savings and Credit Unions of BC, and the Government of BC.
With an initial government investment of $10 million in 2003, BC's ECD Provincial Partnership has successfully facilitated the development of Success By 6® initiatives that reach over 240 communities across the province. By bringing together hundreds of key leaders from all sectors (business, labour, health, education, social services, Aboriginal communities, etc.), continuing fundraising efforts have been successful in strengthening services.
In collaboration with local communities and ECD professionals, the Provincial Partnership continues to build "child-friendly" communities and support the healthy growth and development of young children and their families.
