Partnership, Research & Evaluation

Partnership

BC is a member of the Canada Northwest FASD Partnership, an alliance of the four western provinces and three territories. The Partnership works towards the development and promotion of an interprovincial/territorial approach to the prevention of FASD and the care and support of individuals affected by prenatal alcohol exposure. For more information, visit the Canada Northwest FASD Partnership website.

Research

The Canada Northwest FASD Research Network was created by the Canada Northwest FASD Partnership and is hosted by the Provincial Health Services Authority of BC. The Network aims to build research capacity across Western Canada and the Territories to address high priority research questions, to better inform policy and to develop and evaluate more effective prevention and support strategies for women, and for individuals with FASD and their families. For more information, visit the Canada Northwest FASD Research Network website.

Evaluation

The Ministry of Children and Family Development's new FASD family support services are being reviewed as part of an ongoing three-year evaluation by a contracted evaluation team. Expansion of the FASD support programs will be based on the evaluation results. The full evaluation report and an executive summary of the first year of services are available in pdf format.

The evaluation team is looking for feedback from all stakeholders including parents, foster parents, FASD organizations, FASD service providers and affected youth.
