  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Respiratory infections
  • Digestive system
  • Emotional and mental health issues - such as depression or low self-esteem
  • Development – emotional, cognitive, language, communication and general knowledge
  • Injuries
  • Cancer

  • Obesity
  • Mental health problems
  • Injuries

It is also known that a family lifestyle of not smoking, healthy foods, regular exercise, and positive and stable relationships make a significant and lasting difference to a child’s health, development, behaviour and well-being.

As a foster parent you know that you have a crucial role in helping the childen in your care develop healthy choices and habits that can have a lifetime of positive benefits for health and well-being.
