Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Internship Program

The Child and Youth Mental Health Services of both the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser regions have joined together to offer a one-year, pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Psychology. The VCF PRP recently received accreditation through the Canadian Psychological Association. Supervision and training will be provided in the psychological assessment and treatment of children and youth and families within a multidisciplinary community mental health team. Residents are offered a wide variety of settings, from urban to more rural, and will work with children, youth and families facing challenges of varying types and complexity. Students from Counselling, Clinical , and in some cases School Psychology graduate training programs are encouraged to apply.

Saanich Child and Youth Mental Health Services is pleased to offer a pre-doctoral internship program in Clinical Psychology. This one-year training opportunity offers interns in-depth training in community based child and youth mental health through active clinical work, intensive supervision, and interaction with other health professionals. The focus is on developing the intern’s clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and consultation. Interns are exposed to a broad variety of child and youth mental health issues and problems, with a wide spectrum of psychopathology.
