Welcome to the Fraser Region’s internet website.
The Fraser Region serves the communities between Delta and Boston Bar and has 2 Aboriginal Circles of Community. The Fraser Region is the ancestral home of the Coast Salish and Interior Salish peoples. There are 25 First Nations and Bands which have territory in the Region along with over 28,000 First Nations and Métis people who live off reserve in different communities.
The Fraser Region is a mix of urban, suburban and rural communities with a population of 925,349 (this represents 38% of the total Metro Vancouver / Fraser Valley population and 22% of the provincial population based on 2006 Census Canada data). The Region is home to a growing ethnocultural population which has influenced the partnerships and services provided, especially to refugee and new immigrant families.
The Fraser Region is committed to engagement with children, youth, families and community partners. This is exemplified through our practice of Integrated Case Management and other collaborative practices, as well as through an atmosphere of consultation and collaboration with community partners, which has resulted in several co-locations, or community hubs, to improve access and services for children, youth and families.
The Fraser Region is also home to the Provincial After Hours and Migrant Services programs.
