Fraser Regional Profile
The Fraser Region is comprised of a large, diverse population in a relatively small geographic area of the province.
The Upper Fraser contains approximately 6% of the province's population in a small geographic area.
The South Fraser consists of large urban and suburban communities, comprising approximately 15% of the province's population, interspersed with significant strips of farmland. South Fraser has an increasing share of the province's youth population.
Simon Fraser comprises just about 13% of the province's population and includes Burnaby, New Westminster, etc.
34 First Nations are represented within the Fraser Region.
Regional offices provides services such as, child protection, youth justice, early childhood development, adoption, family supports, child and youth mental health, services to children with special needs and adults with developmental disabilities.
