Services and Programs - Birth to Age 6

The quality of nurturing and attention children receive through early childhood is the most important contributor to their success in learning and as adults. Research has shown early intervention can be key to improving social, language, motor and academic skills. Ministry of Children and Family Development services for children under the age of six are intended to help promote development and lifelong learning and health. Detailed information on these services is available by clicking on the links below.

Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilites

On July 1, 2005, responsibility for the delivery of services and supports for children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities, also known as Community Living Services, was transferred from MCFD to Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). CLBC is also providing these services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children who have been assessed as eligible for the At Home Program (severe disabilities).

You can contact CLBC directly at 604 660-2522 or toll free at
1 877 660-CLBC (2522). You can also email them at info@communitylivingbc.ca.
