Services and Programs
Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) services for children and youth with special needs include a range of child, youth, and family focused support programs and interventions to help promote children's healthy development, maximize quality of life, assist families in their role as primary caregivers and support full participation in community life. The pages From Birth to age 6 and From 6 to age 19, will help you identify what MCFD funded programs and services are available for your child. Services and supports for children and youth with special needs are also offered through Community Living British Columbia, health authorities, community agencies, and other ministries. Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilites On June 23, 2008, government announced changes in ministry responsibilities.
