The Ministry of Children and Family Development provides support and services in communities across the province for young people involved in the Youth Justice system through the provision of:

In this section, you will find an overview of those services. The Ministries of the Public Safety and Solicitor General and Attorney General also play a significant role in the administration of the Youth Justice system.

Mission:

Youth Justice Services contribute to public safety by promoting the development of law-abiding behavior primarily through an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach for youth who are in conflict with the law.

Goals:

  1. To implement policies and provide programs and services that are intended to afford society protection from the illegal behavior of youth.
  2. While involved in youth justice programs, to afford youth optimal opportunities for their healthy growth, functioning and pro-social development.
